Reiki is a very old method healing art. Reiki the word means (loosely translated) flowing universal energy.There are different levels of reiki practitioners that one can attain.
Reiki student is the first level one is initiated into on the road to learning Reiki. Once a student has acquired the necessary knowledge of Reiki, and have received the attunement from a teacher to heal both themselves and others, they are entitled to use the practitioner title.
Reiki Master (or teacher) is the highest level of Reiki. Only the practitioners who have a deep understanding of this amazing healing method can use the title of a Reiki Master. A reiki master is one who has received one of the reiki symbols, and is certified to teach students and attune the students through the 3 levels.
Almost everywhere in the world Reiki is known to have 3 levels or degrees.
In level one, the learner is taught how to heal himself and also others. On this level the student reiceives 4 attunements from the teacher.
On the second stage, the practitioner is taught to use the powerful Reiki symbols which allow him to perform distant reiki healing and other techniques. One more attunement is performed by the teacher and the student is able to perform healing from a distance on others. After the attunement, the student graduates as the Reiki Practitioner.
In the last level, the practitioner graduates as a Reiki Master and is allowed to use a powerful teacher level Reiki Symbol. The newly initiated Reiki Teacher is not only able to heal and have his or her own practice but also carry on his or her own certification program to graduate others into Reiki.
